No one should have to navigate difficult terrain alone.
Make Tracks for Jack is a purpose-driven 4WD expedition across the Simpson Desert, bringing people together for a shared journey of challenge, connection, and reflection.
Over 11 days, participants will travel through some of Australia’s most remote landscapes — not just to complete a crossing, but to be part of something meaningful.
This is not a race, and it’s not a tour.
It’s a coordinated journey built around one simple idea:
Connection matters.
Journey
Mates
The expedition will begin at Marree in South Australia, travelling through the Oodnadatta Track and into the Simpson Desert, before crossing to Birdsville and returning south.
Participants will face:
remote terrain
physical and mental challenges
reliance on others
time away from everyday distractions
Around campfires and across long tracks, something important happens:
Conversations start. Connections form. People open up.
Purpose
Make Tracks for Jack was created in response to the loss of a young boy, Jack, whose story is a powerful reminder that mental health struggles can affect anyone — often in ways we cannot see.
This initiative exists to turn that loss into something meaningful.
To raise awareness - through media and publicity
To start conversations - around the campfire and across the country
To encourage connection - and looking after mates
And to support organisations working on the front line of young men’s mental health.
